Sharjah Investment Center commences delivery of 240 phase1 plots to clients
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, March 15 - 2009 at 15:08
- PRESS RELEASE
Snasco, master developer of the Sharjah Investment Center (SIC), has commenced delivery of the 240 plots that make up phase one of the project, having already completed the Dhs400m infrastructure phase.
The now-completed infrastructure phase included road network, sewage treatment plants, water supply systems, storm water drainage system, telephone and telecommunication infrastructure, fire protection systems, cooling systems and power generating plants. Snasco has also finalized all the required procedures to acquire drawings for the plots.
Dr Omar Mashabi, General Manager of Snasco and Development Manager of SIC, said that with the current circumstances, this achievement would not have been possible without the unlimited support offered to developers in the emirate by H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the Sharjah Government.
"We have enjoyed excellent cooperation from the relevant government departments, including the Directorate of Town Planning and Survey, the Sharjah Lands Department, the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, the Sharjah Fire Department, the Sewage Department and Etisalat. No matter the surrounding circumstances, Snasco is committed to delivering its project in accordance with the schedule," Mashabi said.
Regarding the other phases of the project, Dr Mashabi said that work is ongoing to ensure delivery of these phases to clients in accordance with the schedule, after finalizing the necessary procedures.
SIC covers an area of 32 million square feet, the largest development of its kind in the emirate. The project includes storage areas, labour accommodation, logistic support areas, and a special area for light and medium industry. Additionally there will be hotels, leisure services and a commercial center, as well as cafeterias, restaurants, recreation facilities and hotels.
Launched by Snasco in November 2006, SIC is located in close proximity to Emirates Road, the Sharjah International Airport and neighbouring Sharjah Airport Freezone, and Hamriyah Port, and is only 30 kilometres from Dubai International Airport.
