Bahrain Air welcomes the 4th Aircraft BAW

Bahrain Air is the first privately owned National carrier of Bahrain with Premium and Economy services offering affordable fares throughout its network, received its new Airbus A319 aircraft today bringing the fleet to four aircraft.

Arriving at Bahrain International Airport from Abu Dhabi, UAE under the command of Bahrain Air Managing Director, Captain Ibrahim Al Hamer and Captain Ahmed Yaqubi Operations and Maintenance Director -

Speaking on its arrival, Captain Ibrahim Al Hamer said:

"This is the fourth aircraft joining our fleet, during the 1st year of operation and we are looking forward to receive more aircraft during the coming months, as it has been announced previously."


Mr. Al Hamer continued, "This type of aircraft is very ideal for short and long range, which suit our current and future operation, moreover this latest aircraft addition will allow us to add more destinations to Bahrain Air's network as well as increase frequency to current destinations as part of our ongoing aim to constantly strive to cater to passenger needs and offer them additional value.

On this occasion Eng. Abdul Moen Bastaki, Bahrain Air's Senior Manager Technical said, "the new aircraft arrived on the 15th March 2009" furthermore headed "the new A319 aircraft, is a state-of-the-art and top in its class, it is the ideal choice in the single-aisle market, well-known for its wide seats, aisles and overhead stowage that holds extra carry-on baggage, as well as the technological innovation that brings enhanced performance and reliability".

Eng. Bastaki concluded "the single-aisle plane, consisting of the double cabin with 12 passenger seats for Premium Class, and 120 seats in Economy Class, The A319 BAW is one of the smaller members of Airbus' highly successful single aisle airliner, known for its wider, comfortable seats, aisles and overhead stowage that holds more carry-on baggage, as well as the technological innovation that brings enhanced performance and reliability."

The airline operates point to point services with a minimum connecting transit time in Bahrain International Airport. It offers affordable fares to all its network destinations with two class service, Premium and Economy.

Bahrain Air started operations out of Bahrain International Airport on 3 February 2008. New destinations launched in November 2008, and they are Kuwait, Asyut, and Luxor in Egypt, furthermore Khartoum the capital of Sudan commenced on 16th December 2008. March and April 2009 Bahrain Air's route map will be marked with 3 new destinations, Kathmandu, Kozhikode and Abu Dhabi.

Bahrain Air's transit passengers' will experience convenient & seamless connections through Bahrain International Airport (BIA) to their final destinations under one hour, thereby making the airline the ideal option for their travel between the GCC and other beyond international destinations. Bahrain Air operates a fleet of 2 modern Airbus 320, one A319 and the 4th aircraft a modern Airbus will join the fleet by Mid of March 2009 to bring up the total fleet size to 4 aircraft, all with 12 seat capacities in Premium Class furbished with comfortable leather seats and ample legroom.

A variety of local and international newspapers, magazines, selection of fresh food and beverages ensure the most comfortable flight for Premium Class passengers at very competitive fares. Moreover, the Premium Class passengers are extended with an invitation to relax at the Business Class Lounges at the departure airports. Premium Class passengers as well as the Economy Class passenger will enjoy a variety of in-flight entertainment options while flying and will have the opportunity to select and buy from a wide choice of duty free items competitively priced.
