Emaar, the Economic City delivers over 1.5 million sqm to investors in Industrial Valley

Emaar, The Economic City (Emaar, E.C.), the Tadawul-listed company developing King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), has begun yesterday the process of handing over industrial land to investors with full services within the first phase of the Industrial Valley (IV) on an area of 1.5 million square meters with investments amounting to SR300m.

The Industrial Valley is one of the most important areas in King Abdullah Economic City, the largest private sector project in the region, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud. The 168 square kilometers city consists of six key components: The Sea Port, Central Business District, Industrial Valley, Educational Zone, Resort District and Residential Communities. The first phase of the project has been launched.

On this occasion, Mr. Fahd Al-Rasheed, Board Member and Chief Executive Officer of Emaar E.C., said:
"The Industrial Valley is characterized by applying the best standards in master planning for industrial zones in the world and provides all the services necessary for the establishment of manufacturing and logistics facilities, as well as electricity, water, sewerage treatment, and modern telecommunications services, to all the industrial plots. The Industrial Valley is strategically located on the Red Sea next to the Sea Port of King Abdullah Economic City, serving international trade between Europe and Asia and reaching 250 million consumers in the Middle East and North Africa. The Industrial Valley will positively contribute to the overall Saudi Arabia economic development and provide 11 thousand core job opportunities once the first phase is completed. It will enable the attraction of foreign investments which will help diversify the Saudi economy."


Emaar, the Economic City has ensured the development of the required road networks to link the Industrial Valley with the port and other districts within King Abdullah Economic City as well as efficient connection to Jeddah-Madina highway. Moreover, it has developed a light industrial complex which consists of 20 industrial incubators in its first phase to enable first-time investors and small businesses establish their industrial operations rapidly and cost effectively.

Emaar, the Economic City is working on development of the Industrial Valley in phases, whilst phase 1A of 1.5 million Sqm is fully developed and ready for handover now. Another 4.3 million Sqm of area will be ready by 2012. Upon the completion of all phases in the Industrial Valley, the total size of the Industrial Valley will be 63 million Sqm and home to 2500 factories and will provide more than 150 thousand job opportunities.
