Friendi mobile number booking flooded

In the first 24 hours after announcing the opportunity for people to pre-book their mobile numbers, Friendi mobile, the new mobile service provider in Oman, was flooded with thousands of online bookings.

This caused the company's website to slow down, leaving many customers unable to book their preferred numbers over the internet. Friendi mobile's technical team has upgraded the company's internet connections, and customers are again successfully pre-booking their numbers.

Antti Arponen, CEO of Friendi mobile said,

"We were taken by surprise with the response to the announcement that mobile phone users can now pre-book their preferred Friendi mobile numbers free of charge. Many of Oman's tech-savvy mobile users wanted to search for their preferred number online - all at the same time - which caused the site to slow down during the first two days. On the other hand, this is also very understandable since other providers have asked up to 100 Rials for a premium number and Friendi mobile gives these for free.

We want to thank our customers for their perseverance and patience and congratulate those who have been successful in booking their numbers so far."

Large crowds of people have managed to book a great mobile number already. "Congratulations to all those who have booked some great numbers like Nasser Abdullah Al Hilali, Liju Cherian, Nazim Uddin, Mazin.K.Al-shauibi, Suleiman Abdullah AlRiyami, Saeed Al Riyami, Abdul Aziz Al Rashdi, Wahida and Mohammed Ali Al Riyami, who all got the exact number they wanted. " says Arponen.

To make sure nobody missed out on getting their favourite number due to the rush during the first days, Friendi mobile is adding new great numbers every day.

Arponen also points out that some may be wary about booking a number before the prices are revealed. He said, "We haven't announced our final prices or features, so some people are understandably cautious to committing to the unknown. But there is absolutely nothing to lose - booking your preferred number is free of charge and does not commit you to anything. But when we soon reveal our product details and if you like our great offers, at least you will have the number you want! And free of charge, unlike ever before in Oman."

The availability of numbers will depend on how quick customers are to register. For ease and convenience, customers can either log on and pre-book online (www.friendimobile.om) or they can visit any of the following outlets for personal assistance from the professional Friendi mobile team.

1- Lulu Hypermarkets (Darsait, Bausher, Salalah & Sohar)
2- Muscat City Centre
3- KM Trading
4- City Cinema (Al Nasr) & Star Cinema, Ruwi
5- City Cinema, Shatti
