The international exhibition, which is ongoing until March 18 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre, was formally inaugurated by H.E. Eng. Sultan bin Hamdoun bin Saif Al Harthy, Chairman of the Muscat Municipality, in the presence of ministry officials, ambassadors, the top management of participating companies, and other distinguished guests.

Organised by Omanexpo LLC, Interiors & Buildex 2009 registers the largest number of exhibitors with the participation of many leading companies in Oman as well as the strong presence of international firms who are bringing in a wide variety of new products into the local market. The three-day exhibition presents the biggest collection of building materials and other construction supplies under one roof, making it a must-visit event for all industry professionals.

"With the implementation of various development projects in many parts of the sultanate, the record number of participants at Interiors & Buildex 2009 clearly reflects the emergence of Oman as a major market for all products and equipment for the building and construction industry," said C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading event management company in the sultanate.

Paul pointed out that the continued growth of Interiors & Buildex despite the ongoing global economic downturn demonstrates the resilience of the local market and the overall stability of the sultanate's building and construction industry. He also cited the active participation of many foreign firms as an excellent indicator of the prevailing opportunities and attractive prospects in the industry.
