Protective paint solutions for construction industry offer cost effective remedy
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, March 17 - 2009 at 10:46
- PRESS RELEASE
Construction managers throughout the UAE are turning to protective paints and coatings to add longevity to buildings, saving costly repair and replacement, say industry experts.
Oasis - the own-brand product of Al Gurg Paints (AGP) - has been developed at the company's advanced laboratories to provide a strong, water-proof coating ideal for protection of, and instant repairs to, sheet metal.
"A simple application of Oasis can save many expensive headaches further down the line," said Sunil Gudur, Chief Manager, Al Gurg Paints. "Not only is it very costly to replace the damaged material, it also brings in unnecessary delays which can have negative effects for the whole project."
Oasis is a strong and established brand in the UAE, contributing significantly to the industrial and multi-colour paint niche markets. Researched, designed, and manufactured in Sharjah, Oasis is a strong water-proof coating suitable for application to most surfaces both as protection and decoration. The paint is also very flexible in order to protect the surface from cracks and subsidence.
AGP is the first paint company in the UAE to become a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), signaling its intention to adopt 'green' policies in an effort to become an environmentally-friendly paint company.
AGP is the sole manufacturer and distributer of ICI Dulux, its own Oasis brand and Leigh's Paints. AGP operates its own research and development laboratories, a host of Dulux Decorator Centres throughout the UAE and is one of the leading industrial paint contractors in the region, having worked on iconic projects including Dubai Mall, Burj Al Arab and Maktoum Bridge.
