"The FM-200 filling station is constructed from mild and galvanized stainless steel and is equipped with valves and pressure gauges to make it easy to operate for refilling cylinders safely and efficiently," explained Mr Rami Al-Batrawi, General Manager of IGTC-Chubb Fire Qatar.
"FM-200 is one of the most widely used retardants for Class A, B or electric fires and as such there is a high demand for this fire fighting agent. As a result, it made perfect sense to us to provide our customers with an added convenience of a FM-200 filling station right here in Doha at our workshop, so they can reduce down time and maintain their systems at optimum levels without having to send them abroad."
"An equipment mounting skid makes the system manoeuvrable, and the unit can be fitted with an independent air supply and compressor to make it a self-contained station,"
continued Mr Batrawi.
"Furthermore, the apparatus allows for an automated weighing system which can weigh a maximum of 900lb cylinders, and can feature a portable leak detector to ensure maximum safety by checking for FM-200 gas loss around valves. The filling station is put through stringent tests to ensure safety, flexibility and reliability."
FM-200 has proven to be the most viable fire fighting alternative to the once popular Halon 1301 gas and as a retardant, penetrates fires easily, does not damage sensitive equipment and reduces fire temperatures to stop combustion. As a result, the gas has been employed in tens of thousands of installations across the globe and has been adopted by the world's leading fire fighting companies.
"Since we believe in complying with the latest standards and providing only the best services to our customers, we expect they will be happy with the advent of our new refilling station," said Mr Batrawi.
