The roundtable was attended by guest speaker, Mr. Elhamy Al Zayat, General Assembly Member of the Holding Company for Egyptian Airports and Civil Aviation and bmi spokesperson, Mr. Damian Breen, Regional Manager of Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan and Sierra Leone.

The roundtable tackled the current economic situation and its impact on the aviation sector in Egypt, as well as the announcement of launching bmi's wide-bodied aircraft, the airbus A330, on the Cairo route at the beginning of April. The luxurious aircraft will enable bmi to introduce unique and exclusively tailored services for passengers for the first time in Egypt, and the region.

Damian Breen provided a short presentation highlighting the diversity of services that bmi will offer on its new airbus, which will include luxurious fully flat beds with 78 - 80" seat pitch, a professional chef onboard, and chauffeur drive service, both to and from the airport in London and Cairo. Breen also elaborated on the numerous benefits business travelers already enjoy with bmi, including high -tech business lounges, and priority boarding. Breen also briefly discussed the introduction of Premium Economy class on the Cairo-London route, with 50 inches of legroom is the most spacious in the sky.

"bmi is continuously striving to enhance and diversify its services, as we believe it is essential to constantly raise standards in the travel industry. This is essential for the development of the Egyptian route, and the aviation community, and is one of the reasons that Egypt continues to host some of the world's most prestigious airlines. By launching the A330 to Cairo we are making a statement about our commitment to Egypt and expanding at a time when the world feels the icy chill of the credit crunch. We pride ourselves on listening to what the customer wants, continuing to listen to their needs and responding to them. This is what makes bmi so different and dynamic"

said Breen.

Elhamy Al Zayat echoed Breen's sentiments, adding that the Egyptian government is always keen to improve services offered in Egyptian airports, whether or not this change comes from state owned airlines or not.
