Abu Dhabi International Book Fair bigger than ever

The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) has exceeded its 2008 figures in terms of net space, exhibitors and the range of countries from which the exhibitors are coming, according to organisers Kitab.

At the final count, the number of exhibitors attending the 19th ADIBF floor is 637 - an incredible 32% more than the 2008 Fair. As a result, the fair is taking nearly 100 square metres more floor space at ADNEC, equivalent to14%.

The number of countries represented has increased to 53 - coming from 5 continents. In addition, trade visitors have registered to attend from Algeria, Armenia, Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Lebanon, Nigeria, Russia, Sudan, UAE, UK and US.

Claudia Kaiser, General Manager of Kitab, says:
"These final numbers demonstrate the wide ranging reach of the Fair internationally. And this confirms that Abu Dhabi is achieving its goal to be recognised as the media hub for the region."
