- PRESS RELEASE
Dealers and distributors of Western Digital's hard disk drives, (HD), in the Middle East enjoyed a red-carpet reception at the world's leading HD manufacturer's plant in Malaysia to celebrate their remarkable performance in surpassing projected sales goals for the region.
The initiative was organized by Western Digital's long standing partner in the Middle East - Servex (ME) Ltd., world-class provider of IT components and peripherals - as a reward for the outstanding efforts of WD's dealers in the region, who were invited to the Malaysia-based plant to take a first-hand look at Western Digital's technology and the corporate culture behind it.
"This initiative is yet another example of Western Digital's commitment to the Middle East region," said Pavan Gupta, Business Development Manager at Servex. "We at Servex are proud of our strategic partnership with Western Digital as the only HD manufacturer with regional offices in the Middle East, and as an organization that adopts long-term and customer-friendly policies in its operation," added Gupta.
"Our dealers have exerted tremendous efforts in making the Western Digital hard drive one of the best selling brands in the region," said Rauf Baig, Western Digital Country Sales Manager in the Middle East. "By choosing to partner with the leading dealers in the region, Western Digital will be able to continue providing Middle East markets with best-of-breed storage capacity solutions and products," added Baig.
Located in Sungei Way Free Trade Zone, Petaling Jaya, outside Kuala Lumpur, the 50,000 square meter Western Digital factory was established in 1973 and currently has a production capacity of 80,000 drives per day, and produced more than 90.000.000 hard disk drives since its opening.
"Western Digital is dominating the Middle East market with its innovative, affordable, and reliable desktop PC storage solutions," said a representative of one of the visiting delegations. "The opportunity to see Western Digital's production facilities first-hand has created even greater product understanding and motivations for the company's partners in the Middle East," added another delegate.
