Emirati employment key focus for Ajman Bank

Ajman Bank, the emirate's first Islamic commercial bank, has been recognised for its support and promotion of Emirati employment by the Emirates Institute of Banking and Financial Studies, EIBFS.

The Bank received a certificate of appreciation and thanks from the Taminia Committee at EIBFS shortly after its successful participated in the UAE's National Career Exhibition. Attending the exhibition the second year running, Ajman Bank took the opportunity to communicate the career development and support programmes on offer in a bid to encourage more Emirati nationals to join their team. With over 10,000 people in attendance, Ajman Bank saw great success, garnering interest from many prospective banking professionals throughout the course of the exhibition.

Showcasing the numerous career opportunities on offer, Ajman Bank offered guidance on how young Emirati nationals can begin to prepare themselves for a career in banking. It encouraged students to partake in courses at the EIBFS, as well as informing them about internships and summer training opportunities. Students were also informed of the many incentives available once employed by the bank.

The focus on Emiratization at Ajman Bank stems from the perception of the workforce as one of its key asset, combined with its community banking approach. Investing time and resources into its staff is therefore central to its development and growth strategy, which it views as contributing to the overall good of the organisation and the UAE. The Bank not only encourages and offers opportunities to young Emiratis to make inroads into banking, but offers many other incentives which allow UAE nationals to train quickly on the job. These include on the job coaching and mentoring, opportunities for external training, fast tracking for those with exceptional abilities and annual merit increment and bonuses. It is for these attraction, motivation and retention schemes for UAE Nationals that Ajman Bank gladly received its certificate of appreciation from EIBFS.
