- PRESS RELEASE
Higher Colleges of Technology's Abu Dhabi Women's College leaders and students hosted a visit by Olympic gold-medalists and women's sports leaders Jennifer Azzi and Donna de Varona.
Both visitors work worldwide to promote women's sports as an avenue for personal advancement, as well as a means toward international peace. They are visiting Abu Dhabi to take part in Prince Feisal of Jordan's Generations for Peace sports camp, held this year under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahayan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister.
Dr. Bradley Cook, ADWC's Director, declared: "These two women are outstanding examples of what sports can do for a person's confidence and outlook on life. We're so glad they were able to visit with our students." Ms. De Varona, who has been called "one of the greatest swimmers of her generation. I am very impressed to see the level of activity and accomplishment at this College. These women have so much going for them!" Ms. Azzi, "the Michael Jordan of women's basketball," agreed. "We expect great things from these students," she added.
Abu Dhabi Women's College is part of the Higher Colleges of Technology. All media references to the organization should be noted as the Higher Colleges of Technology's Abu Dhabi Women's College or Abu Dhabi Women's College of HCT.
