Bahrain Air celebrates the launch of 15th destination

Bahrain Air, the first Premium service carrier with affordable fares, is a private national carrier located in Bahrain, operating within Mena countries and to Asia, started today early morning a 3 weekly flights, direct to Kathmandu, Nepal on 17th March 09.
The Inaugural flight was accompanied by a number of officials from Bahrain Air, led by Mr. Ibrahim Abdulla Al Hamer, Managing Director of Bahrain Air, as well as Senior Management of the company.
On this occasion Mr. Ibrahim Al Hamer expressed his gratitude and gratefulness to the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority for all the support and cooperation that was provided to Bahrain Air. Adding, "With the strengthening of economic ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Nepal, there has been a marked increase in business and tourist traffic between the two countries. This had called for enhanced connectivity and Bahrain Air is fulfilling this need."
Mr. Al Hamer continued, "Bahrain Air is well-known as a remarkable brand in the intensely competitive Gulf-Asia sector in a comparatively short time, on account of the warmth of its service and quality of its in-flight product. We are confident that the new Bahrain - Kathmandu service will prove similarly popular with passengers."
"We are very pleased to be able to serve the large Nepal National community by way of offering cost effective and comfortable means of travel, moreover, the passengers will be able to fly from Nepal onward to other destinations on Bahrain Air's network," he added.
After a long market research the schedule was finalized that the passengers will find it very convenient both business travellers and regular passengers Bahrain Air will operate to Kathmandu with 3 weekly flights.
The flight departs from Bahrain International Airport on TUE /FRI/ SUN at 02:35 am and arriving at Kathmandu 10:05am local time and departing Kathmandu at 10:50am arriving back to Bahrain at 12:50 pm, with one additional flight starting from 30th March 2009 bringing the total of four weekly flights, further more making Kathmandu the 15th destination on its network.This will be the airline's second destination in service to Asia from Bahrain International Airport.

Bahrain Air is the first privately owned National carrier of Bahrain with Premium and Economy services offering affordable fares throughout its network. The Company has an authorized Capital of BD20m ($53.2m) of which BD14m ($37.1)m is the paid-up Capital, with the remaining amount to be paid by July 2010. Bahrain Air started its operations out of Bahrain International Airport on 3 February 2008 to Dubai and now serves twice daily services each, at convenient timings, to Dubai, Doha and Kuwait, five weekly flights each to Alexandria in Egypt and Damascus, 3 weekly each to Amman and Mashad in Iran and two flights each to Aleppo, Asyut and Luxor.
On 26th May 2008, three weekly flights commenced to Kochi in South India which will increase to daily flights from October 2008.
Bahrain Air commenced on 23rd July 2008 its operation to Jeddah with 3 flights weekly, which increased on the 1st September 2008 to 4 weekly flights. New destinations launched in November 2008, and they were Kuwait, Asyut, and Luxor in Egypt. Furthermore, operations to Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, commenced on 16th December 2008 with 4 weekly services, 2 via Dubai International Airport. In March and April 2009 Bahrain Air's route map marked the addition of 3 new destinations, Kathmandu, Kozhikode (Calicut) and Abu Dhabi making the total to 18 destinations.
As a business concept, Bahrain Air strive to make its transit passengers experience convenient & seamless connections through Bahrain International Airport (BIA) to their final destinations, under one hour, thereby making the airline their ideal option for travel between the GCC and other beyond international destinations. Bahrain Air operates a fleet of 4 modern Airbus 320 and 319, all with 12 seats in "Premium Business Class" and 150 seats and 120 seats respectively in Economy class, furbished with comfortable leather seats and ample legroom.
A variety of local and international newspapers and magazines, selection of fresh foods and beverages and an invitation to relax at the Business lounges in selected airports before boarding the flights ensure the most comfortable flight for Premium Class passengers, while the same are offered to Economy class passengers at very competitive fares.
