"As gourmands from the Middle East increase in sophistication, we are confident that they will be attracted to the World Gourmet Summit to appreciate the epicurean treats created by these Michele starred chefs," said Jason Ong, Area Director, Middle East & Africa, Singapore Tourism Board.

This year's WGS will be led by a trio of three-Michelin starred chefs, iconic Mediterranean food specialist Heinz Beck, German masterchef Klaus Erfort and Régis Marcon who focuses on natural produce with cuisine that follows the natural order of the year.

The annual World Gourmet Summit (WGS) is co-organised by the Singapore Tourism Board and Peter Knipp Holdings and presented by Citibank. The award-winning summit, held from 19 April - 2 May positions Singapore as Asia's premier gourmet capital and an exclusive lifestyle destination.

The emerging gourmet trend of 'sustainable dining' emphasising the use of seasonal and organic produce will make its debut at the summit this year. Proponents of this pro-green concept place strong emphasis on ingredients' natural goodness and employ the use of organic and bio-dynamic ingredients in their cooking.

"This gourmet experience is complemented by the many lifestyle elements that Singapore offers, from high-end fashion shopping to international music and arts performances. This provides for a distinctive and complete experience of Singapore and also boosts Singapore's reputation as an exclusive lifestyle destination."

Ong added.
