The appointment comes at a time when Abbott is introducing a number of ground-breaking new treatments in the region.
Bates PanGulf helped launch Abbott's weight reduction drug, Reductil, in the UAE earlier this year. "This is a period where communication is going to be crucial for us," said Ibrahim Aql, Commercial Director, Gulf Region, adding that the company is expecting the imminent price approval of Uprima, the world's first sublingual drug for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
"In Bates PanGulf PR, we have an effective and experienced partner who will help us communicate our messages in the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain."
Bates PanGulf PR General Manager Naamat Baradhy, added, "We're very excited about receiving the contract. Abbott's key focus products are unique in their field, and will prove to have genuine interest for both the media and the public."
