Castrol EDGE, 4th Team Saluki sponsorship at the UAE Desert Challenge

Castrol EDGE range of Castrol sponsors for the fourth year running Team Saluki, at the UAE Desert Challenge, penultimate round of the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup and the FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship.

With the continuous support provided by Castrol EDGE, the buggy, previously acquired by the support of Castrol, has a new engine and complete re-mapping since the last Desert Challenge. Mark Powell and Paul Richards, long time co-driver with Team Saluki, have recently returned from competing in the Ha'il Rally in Saudi Arabia, where they recorded their best result as a team, finishing second overall in their Castrol EDGE branded buggy.

Castrol EDGE is the result of a painstaking and persistent product development process which saw the lubricant performing under the roughest and most rigorous conditions. It is tailor-made for people that love their cars, providing superior protection and performance, no matter what, where or how hard they drive and the result of more than $25m research and development over five years.

Mark Powell, the Team Saluki driver for the Desert Challenge since 1997 will not be able to participate this year due to other pre-scheduled commitments. However, because of the team's extreme dedication to this particular event, they approached Glen Reid, who was extremely happy to take this chance and be part of the team. Mark Powell said,

"Glen has been rallying for a number of years he is the best person to get to the finish. Paul Richards will be there to navigate for him and we have no doubt that they will work exceptionally well together."
