Tannoy returns to Palme Middle East 2009

  • United Arab Emirates: Sunday, March 22 - 2009 at 16:57
  • PRESS RELEASE

Pioneering UK loudspeaker manufacturer Tannoy will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Palme Middle East show in Dubai, with a bigger presence than ever before.

The company will out in force at the show, taking place on the 26 - 28 April 2009 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, exhibiting and demonstrating their most important recent developments in professional loudspeaker technology.

Among the key products on show will be VQ Series and QFlex, as well as exhibiting a wealth of audio installation solutions from Tannoy's existing V-Series, Di Series, in-wall and in-ceiling loudspeaker ranges.

Tannoy's VQ Series, launched at Frankfurt's ProLight+Sound last year, is a range of revolutionary loudspeakers designed for any application where precise directional control, outstanding sonic performance, and high SPL's are critical issues; such as large corporate AV systems, stadiums, large dance clubs, live concert halls, theatres, houses of worship and open-air venues. Utilising precision engineering and design, the VQ series can produce enough power and clarity to be used individually, maintaining your building's aesthetics, unlike line array solutions. VQ's high sensitivity ensures exceptional SPL levels can be achieved with a very modest amount of amplifier power. As an example, the VQ 60 will produce 115dB for 1 Watt; and 138dB (144dB peak) for only 200 Watts of amplifier power.

The other recent major product development from Tannoy to be exhibited and demonstrated at Palme Middle East is QFlex, a series of self-powered, digitally steerable loudspeaker arrays using 'beam-steering' DSP technology. By focusing the acoustical output in the target directions where it is needed Tannoy's revolutionary new range is designed specifically to overcome intelligibility problems associated with highly reverberant surroundings. QFlex will satisfy a host of audio installation requirements such as airports and other transportation hubs, shopping malls, conference facilities, museums, houses of worship and many other locations with problematic acoustics. Now a part of the VNET range of products, this architecturally pleasing system from Tannoy integrates cutting edge DSP, network control and amplification to provide class-leading steering control (+/- 70 degrees) for not only extremely intelligible speech but also music reinforcement.

Other new product developments on show include the new SR601T rock speaker, designed for landscaped audio distribution and available in a variety of textured finishes, included (naturally) sand - perfect for those hotel gardens and patio areas as well as theme parks and large scale outdoor spaces. Tannoy will also be showing the newly revised Di Series with improved stainless steel grilles in a variety of colour finishes as well as the new CVS4 Micro, ultra compact shallow back-can ceiling loudspeaker.

Tannoy are also a key sponsor of the Palme Middle East 'Battle of the DJs' finals, which are held at the show between 11am and 7pm in the main hall. 2 full stacks of VQ Series, including Tannoy's twin 18" direct radiating subwoofer enclosures, will be fulfilling the PA requirements, so expect to hear some exceptional mixing - with stunning clarity and rib rattling bass.

Tannoy Sales, Marketing and Engineering personnel will be on hand to demonstrate the innovative VQ and QFlex models and provide information about the rest of Tannoy's versatile loudspeaker ranges. If you're planning to be at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre for this 7th Palme show, be sure to pay Tannoy a visit at Stand 7F20.
