Kuwait Styrene provides update on EBSM Unit

The Kuwait Styrene Company (TKSC) said it continues to make great progress in completing its Ethyl Benzene-Styrene Monomer (EBSM) Unit which is part of the Greater Equate project.
TKSC added that the EBSM Unit commissioning and start-up activities are on track with start-up still scheduled for the second quarter of 2009 as announced by Equate Petrochemical Company on February 2nd of this year.
The EBSM Unit is owned by TKSC but will be operated by Equate under one operational umbrella along with the assets of two additional companies: The Kuwait Olefins Company (TKOC) and Kuwait Paraxylene Production Company (KPPC).
Equate will be the single operator of these assets in addition to Equate's existing facilities and the combined entities, collectively referred to as Greater Equate, are expected to produce over 5 million tons per year of high quality petrochemicals once fully up and running.
