Aptly titled, "Talks on Leadership: lessons learnt from a life changing experience", the Leadership Trust Programme was sponsored by the BAE Systems.

In July 2008, the YAL-Bahrain selected 8 young Bahrainis, from different organisations to participate in the Leadership Trust Programme as part of their annual youth development and leadership programmes.

The event was attended by members of BSTD, Bahrain Management Society (BMS) and YAL. They were exposed to the concept and lessons learnt from the programme, focusing on the unique and life-transforming experience the participants went through and further development of the skills they learnt after returning.

Based on The Leadership Trust's core philosophies, the primary aim of the Leadership in Management Programme (LM) is to enable the participants to develop self-awareness, self-control and self-confidence in order to become a more effective leader. Using personal experiences to reinforce and identify individual strengths impacting behaviour and taking steps to gain personal growth, the recent two week Leadership Trust course challenged, stimulated and fostered leadership skills within the eight participants.

Commenting on the Leadership Trust Programme, H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al-Khalifa, Chairman of the Young Arab Leaders-Bahrain, said: "We have witnessed the Leadership Trust programme to have an extraordinary influence in the lives of its participants. The programme has further empowered them to advance-personally and professionally".

He further added:
"The BAE Systems has shown genuine interest in supporting the goals of the Young Arab Leaders through their support to develop Bahraini youth into leaders. We are sincerely thankful to them for making this programme happen."
