    Yas Island.
Aldar currently has over 70,000 people working on its diverse portfolio of projects within Abu Dhabi, including Yas Island, Al Raha Beach, Central Market, Al Raha Gardens, Al Mamoura, and Al Gurm. The magnitude of construction is such that some 20 million man hours are worked each month.

Last year, Aldar won the Best Health and Safety Achievement in Construction award, granted by the Safety and Health Practitioner and Institution in Occupation Safety and Health (IOSH) in the United Kingdom. Aldar is also the first master developer in Abu Dhabi to have become a signatory member of Build Safe UAE, a not for profit organization aimed at improving the health, safety and welfare conditions of all construction industry stakeholders through the sharing of information.

Andrew Broderick, Aldar's Head of Health, Safety and Environment, commented:
"To have completed 100 million hours without a lost time injury is a truly remarkable achievement for any construction company. The implementation of stringent safety initiatives such as the 'Million Man Hour' achievement and the 'Recognised 4 Safety' awards aimed at recognising workers for their contribution to health and safety played a vital role in achieving this goal."

John Bullough, CEO of Aldar properties added, "This achievement is the result of the combined efforts of all the teams engaged in our current projects. It demonstrates Aldar's commitment to providing a safe working environment for its employees and all who work on its behalf. I am delighted to see Aldar taking the lead in enhancing the current benchmark of health and safety performance in the UAE."
