Completion of nine mock up villas at Alghadeer Sorouh

The construction mock up villas have been built to scale by experts in sustainable architecture.

Each is fully fitted out and located in situ to study a whole raft of best practice building initiatives from around the world prior to the selection of a building contractor.

A key consideration in the selection processes will be energy saving and insulation techniques which offer environmental and cost saving benefits to occupiers and the entire project, as well as quality, speed and efficiency of construction.

A New Suburb Is Emerging

Alghadeer Sorouh is a three million square metre development with Investment Zone status on the borders of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Part of the wider Saih As Sidirah regional master planned development, Alghadeer Sorouh is on a path to becoming one of the most significant new commuter destinations in the Emirates from the delivery of the first homes in 2012.

Enabling Work Continues On Track

Enabling work began in October and is well underway, anticipated to be completed on schedule by June 2009. Construction of the entrance and exit slip roads from Al Faya Road to the main entrance is underway and street lighting will shortly be turned on at the soon-to-be finished main entrance and site offices. Here Alghadeer Sorouh's project team of more than 70 people will shortly join a construction work force of over 1000 people currently working on site.
