The week consisted of multiple events, with different themes such as Road Safety, Seat Belt Safety and Vehicle Safety for children, adults, college students.

The Traffic Village consisted of different platforms of road safety for different age groups of children. Games, educative programs, coloring and painting stalls were also put up by RTA.

"We are glad that RTA gave us an opportunity to participate in the Salama Traffic Village at Al Khor Creek Park, so that we could demonstrate the effect of seat belt restraint in protecting one's life in case of an accident or collision. We could also interact with children from various schools, and provide them with Mamma I'm Home Children Road Safety kits," said Fatima Raees, Marketing Manager, Emirates Driving Institute.

An educative and informative program on Road Safety was also organized for the doctors, staff, patients and visitors of Rashid Hospital on March 17. The Institute demonstrated the effects of a seat belt on the convincer machine.

"The seat belt convincer collides only at a speed limit of 10kms/hr, yet the impact is so high that the people are almost startled with the jerk," said Dr. Fathi.

Realizing the need to educate the teenagers and university students about the hazards of driving without a seat belt, a one-day traffic open day was organized by RTA in association with Emirates Driving Institute at University of Wollongong, Knowledge Village. On the Traffic Open Day different lectures were conducted by lecturers from Bridgestone, Dubai Ambulance and Emirates Driving Institute.

"College students always tend to overlook lane discipline and seat belt safety. Our lecture was quite useful for the staff and students of Wollongong," said Rashid Ghulam, lecturer from Emirates Driving Institute.

All the events met with stupendous success. Emirates Driving Institute hopes to take up such endeavours more frequently to spread awareness about Road Safety in Dubai.
