Mr. Sridhar said:
"We are excited to announce the participation of Dr. Porter and are very pleased to have her lead the Conference proceedings. Her illustrious background in the fields of HRM has positioned her among the leading thinkers in the fields of Human Resources Strategy and Management."
Mr. Sridhar added, "She has considerable experience of running management training courses in the U.K. and has conducted many overseas assignments, including in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. During 2005/6 she was part of an ACAS team advising the Romanian Economic & Social Council on accession to the European Union. Her doctoral thesis is in the area of impact of national culture on management practice and learning styles, a subject on which she continues to write and research. Dr. Porter has recently completed a 6th edition of a text The Skills of Management (co-authored with W. David Rees) and co-edited a further text, Exploring Human Resource Management (with Cecilie Bingham and David Simmonds) published in Autumn 2007. Dr, Christine Porter is yet another important reason why delegates should not miss out on the opportunity to attend the Conference."
Commenting on the Conference, Dr. Christine Porter said, "I am looking forward to presenting my ideas and sharing my thoughts with the delegates on the key topics of HRM Strategy and Practice. The Conference theme is also very relevant to the current economic slowdown that is being witnessed around the world. We hope to discuss these issues and more at our meetings at the Conference."
