Thai Chefs Prasit and Ekachai, flown in especially from Thailand, and Chef Giresh Nair, Head Chef at the Crowne Plaza Muscat, prepared a menu with a whole spectrum of dishes that highlight the great and diverse cuisines of Thailand, while the Royal Thai Embassy Muscat provided select authentic ingredients to serve guests dishes full of true Thai flavours.
Around 70 guests, including members of diplomatic corps in Muscat as well as businessmen and journalists, attended the inauguration of the Festival. They enjoyed genuine Thai cuisine and cultural performances which would encourage guests to visit Thailand and experience the country's legendary hospitality.
Both chefs, Prasit and Ekachai, love to give the traditional food items and cooking methods an international touch and to surprise guests with different taste innovations, and some of their expertly-conceived dishes include deep-fried shrimp spring rolls, traditional spicy soup with prawns, lime juice and chilli flavoured with lemongrass, green curry with eggplant and basil leaves with chicken, amongst other delectable combinations.
"Until relatively recent times, Thailand's rich culinary heritage was one of its best-kept secrets. Discovery by the outside world came first with the advent of tourism to the Kingdom, later through the phenomenal popularity of Thai restaurants that opened in cities as diverse as Los Angeles and London, Sydney and Tokyo. At the Crowne Plaza Muscat we are proud to offer the subtle blend of tasted and textures that make a Thai meal so memorable"
said Mr. Herve' Corvest, the Crowne Plaza Muscat General Manager.
Naturally, the festival is a tremendous treat for lovers of Thai Food and diners may also enjoy traditional Thai dancing shows and participate in a competition to win a vacation in Thailand in one of the IHG properties.
Be part of this delicious different culinary experience and explore an exciting lineup of exotic Thai dishes for your gastronomic indulgence from March 25th to March 31st at the Crowne Plaza Muscat.
