Four Seasons Doha, the official host for Qatar Today Green Awards 2009

The formal agreement for this was signed on March 24.

Commenting on the tie-up Simon Casson, General Manager, Four Seasons said, "Four Seasons Hotel Doha is delighted to be named as the Host hotel for the 2009 Qatar Today Green Awards. Four Seasons, as a company, has long been committed to sustainable business practices as a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility mandate. Within our own hotel here in Doha, we have a dedicated 'green team' who look at these issues and how we can do better."

Speaking about this partnership Mr. Ravi Raman (Vice President Oryx Advertising) added, "The awards ceremony is obviously the grand finale and we are happy to welcome Four Seasons as the official hosts. It is a property which is Doha's outstanding landmark. Moreover, their vision ties-in perfectly with what we envisage for Qatar Today."

Launched with the aim of recognising and rewarding worthy environmental programmes, the QTGA generated tremendous awareness and interest among the participating companies spanning a number of sectors.

The awards recognise and promote causes across a broad spectrum of activities - from individual to collective efforts - of businesses, educational, medical, and governmental institutions, and individuals. The QTGA provides environmental groups with a platform to make a coordinated effort, to create awareness and motivate participation in projects that are sustainable.
