BAE Systems' 'Man of the Year' receives special award

The presentation, made at the company's headquarters just outside Riyadh, was attended by Peter Wilson, BAE Systems Chief Executive in Saudi Arabia, and British Ambassador Sir William Patey.

"Mohammed has worked for the company for 10 years as a flight dispatcher at the King Faisal Air Academy. Prior to that for 25 years, he also carried out duties at the academy, and it is this long record of loyalty and dedication that sets him out from his fellow workers," said Monther Tayeb, Head of PR and Communications at BAE Systems.

"Mohammed displays a tremendous work ethic and is reliable at all times. In addition to his contribution at work, he also takes considerable interest in and concern for the well-being of his colleagues. We were delighted to recognise his special qualities in this way," he added.

BAE Systems has 4,600 employees in Saudi Arabia, 2,450 of who are Saudi nationals. The company is a strong supporter of the development of workplace expertise and has a number of programmes in place to recognise high achievement.

"The company is bringing engineering to Saudi Arabia to build an industrial capability to support our Customers," said Monther Tayeb. "Much of this work is handled by industrial partners, and we are keen to support development within their workforces, too."
