Members of the British Business Groups from across the Gulf will now be able to enjoy the benefits of membership of each other's groups with the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by representatives from the British Business Groups of Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia.

Mark Beer, Chairman and CEO of the British Business Group, Dubai and the Northern Emirates said, "The joint signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marks a new chapter in the history of the British Business groups in the region."

"In Dubai we have worked hard to develop our links with business organisations such as Young Arab Leaders, Arab Business Angels Network as well the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and, with the signing of this MoU, we are now working to strengthen our links with the other regional British Business Groups for the benefit of our members," he added.

"Now, being a member of one of the region's business groups entitles someone to gain access to events at all of the Groups that have signed the MoU, as well as being able to benefit from any reduced 'members rates'," continued Beer.

To further promote collaboration and knowledge transfer, the Group's Committees will be actively seeking ways to share information about speaker contacts and high level visitors to the region and meet to discuss opportunities and challenges, working together to share best practice for the benefit of all members and each of the respective Groups.

Mark Beer continued, "The British Business Group here in Dubai is going from strength to strength, having over 1,450 members. We work closely with the UK trade and Investment team in Dubai, as well as local Government Departments in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. We have been in existence for over 21 years, making us the longest running registered business Group in Dubai and we are the most active, with around 80 events each year."

"The fact that we are the largest business group in the region is a testament to the commitment and enthusiasm of the British business community to the enhancement of business ties between the UAE and the UK, as well as the community's commitment to continuing to be a part of the success of Dubai & the Northern Emirates," Beer said.

The British Business Group in Dubai (BBG) provides unequalled opportunities to hear from key decision makers and influencers and networking via a blend of both formal events, which feature such speakers Sheikha Lubna bint Khaled Al Qasimi and Ian Luder, the Lord Mayor of the City of London, to more informal events such as the highly popular Annual Golf Day.

A key feature of the success of the BBG has been the industry specific 'Focus Group' events which bring together business professionals who share a common interest and are a useful forum for discussion on topical commercial issues. The BBG Focus Communications Group, which is aimed at those members working in the PR and communications industry, is the most recent addition to the expanding line up.

Mark Beer concluded, "Joint collaboration between our groups for the benefit of our members is something that we have all been working towards for some time and we are all looking forward to being able to share best practices and welcome other business groups who may wish to become a party to this MoU."
