Dubai participates in Ukraine tourism and travel exhibition

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing had a strong presence at the 2009 edition of Ukraine International Travel and Tourism exhibition in Kiev from March 25 to 27.

Dubai Stand measured 210 square metres was shared by DTCM and its industry partners. Dubai was the Partner Destination of the UITT this year.

Mr. Ali Abdul Wahab, Head of East and West Europe Region at DTCM's Overseas Promotions Department, said:

"Our strong participation in this exhibition reflects the importance we attach to the Ukraine market. Our main purpose here is to tell the UITT visitors about excellent tourist opportunities Dubai offers. Dubai Stand is showcasing the best tourism products offering and holiday packages for the industry and potential visitors."


Ukraine is widely considered to be the second most attractive tourism market in Eastern Europe after Russia. In 2007, 17m Ukrainian tourists traveled abroad.

This year, UITT occupied more than 12,500 square metres exhibition space. More than 550 companies from 49 countries took part in the show.

Dubai hotels played host to an estimated 487,000 visitors from Russia/CIS/Baltics in 2008 which is 15 per cent more compared to 2007 with 473,037 visitors.
