BIsB bronze sponsor of 9th GCC Banking Conference

Bahrain Islamic Bank (BIsB) has announced that it will be a bronze sponsor of the 9th GCC Banking Conference due to be held under the theme of: "A New Era in International Banking Practices: Its Impact upon Gulf Markets".

The Conference, which is organized by the Central Bank of Bahrain in co-operation with the GC General Secretariat, will be held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister during the period from 24 to 25th March, 2009 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

In a statement, Mr. Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed, BIsB Chief Executive, said:
"We are pleased with our sponsorship and participation in this prestigious Conference that is held at the time when the region faces numerous challenges arising from the global financial and economic crisis as the Conference will attract more than 650 delegates representing GCC and world central bank officials."


He added, "The topics of this Conference will focus on a number of key topics in the Gulf banking sector such as developments in Gulf banking business, developments in Gulf financial markets, financial crisis and lessons that are given to the banking industry in addition to other topics related to Gulf and international banking and finance."

BIsB Chief Executive further said the Bank's participation with this large gathering of senior bankers only serves to highlight the Bank's ambition to forge and strengthen closer business links with the participants and to get acquainted with the latest developments in the Islamic banking business, which would enable it to offer the best and most effective products to its customers through learning from the experiences of others.

He concluded his remarks by saying, "We wish this Conference every success and hope that its results and recommendations would be of benefit to all the participants."

Bahrain Islamic Bank has a network of 12 branches throughout the Kingdom and this network is considered as the biggest network owned by an Islamic bank in the Kingdom. The Bank also has more than 28 ATMs of two different types (fixed and drive-thru ATMs) located in strategic parts of the country.
