Equate sponsors Science Faculty's graduation ceremony

Equate Petrochemical Company sponsored Kuwait University's Faculty of Science graduation ceremony for distinguished students and the Dean's Honor List.

The event was under the patronage of the faculty's Dean Prof. Bader Al-Saqobi to honor 75 male and female distinguished students.

On this occasion, Equate Vice President for Technical Affairs and Head of Equate Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) Team Mahmoud Al-Qattan "Through this sponsorship, Equate aims at supporting different educational sectors in Kuwait, especially ones relevant to higher education and educational development," wishing the honored students all the best in their career lives or pursuing graduate degrees.

Al-Qattan added that Equate CSR Program includes various initiatives in health, environment, occupational development, community awareness and education, such as annual university scholarships for Equate's employees and high-school graduates in cooperation with Kuwait's Ministry of Higher Education, as well as supporting research and development at Kuwait University through signing a number of memorandums of cooperation and scientific studies agreements with a some of the university's faculties.

Al-Qattan noted that Equate CSR Team was currently executing Equate's Initiative for a Healthy Society (Lighten Up) to battle obesity and eliminate its health implications in cooperation with Kuwait obesity Association (KOA). He explained that Lighten Up is aimed at creating overall community awareness, including university students and staff, about obesity and its dangers.

Considered one of the world's leading companies in producing Polyethylene and Ethylene Glycol, Equate was established in 1995 and it is presently a joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), The Dow Chemical Company, Boubyan Petrochemicals Company and Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company. It commenced production in 1997 and currently provides markets in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe with high quality petrochemical products.
