"Our sponsorship of 'The Gruffalo's Child' musical is just one example of Nissan's social commitment to enrich lives with entertainment and education."
said Monal Zeidan, General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications Department at Nissan Middle East.
Following the huge success of The Gruffalo last year, the number of performances will increase from 12 to 16 this year and to date, 5,000 out of the total allocation of 7,000 tickets have been sold in Dubai.
"We viewed this as another great opportunity to deliver Nissan's message of road safety via our Kids safety cartoon book 'Be Safe with Nissan' that we produce in both Arabic and English" continued Zeidan.
"We are targeting families and children and promoting safety in the region and 'The Gruffalo's Child' musical is a great way to reach our audience he concluded".
Nissan Middle East periodically distributes copies of its 'Be Safe with Nissan' comic book and animated film, which aims to remind kids about the importance of following road safety rules and teaches good habits that will help avoid accidents.
The comic-style book uses easy language and engaging colourful pictures designed to help school children understand the road safety message. Nissan emphasises child safety inside vehicles through the passive and active safety features designed into every Nissan to protect occupants.
'The Gruffalo's Child' tells the story of the Gruffalo's daughter, who is brave enough to resist her father, setting off into the woods in order to find the 'big bad mouse' which is the only thing her dad is afraid of. The musical is now playing at Madinat Jumeriah Theatre from March 25 until April 1, 2009. The show is 50 minutes in total and suitable for ages three and above.
