The signing is part of the strategic partnership between Visa and Emirates NBD aimed at growing the debit card business in the UAE and improve the card payment experience for customers. Senior representatives from both Visa and Emirates NBD were present to mark the formal signing.
As part of this strategic partnership Visa will support Emirates NBD to further develop the bank's debit portfolio and enhance the Emirates NBD customer experience by increasing usage capabilities including access to Visa's unsurpassed global acceptance as well as the increased flexibility, convenience and security that debit offers.
Commenting on the signing, Kamran Siddiqi, Visa's General Manager Middle East said, "The signing of the Emirates NBD Debit deal is an important step for Visa in growing our debit card capabilities in the UAE and bringing the associated debit card advantages to UAE customers through Emirates NBD."
Speaking on behalf of Emirates NBD, Jamal Bin Ghalaita, General Manager of Consumer Banking and Wealth Management said, "We are pleased to partner with Visa in this agreement, and look forward to working closely to continue delivering innovative and relevant debit products that exceed the expectations of our customers."
