Following Deyaar's announcement of its target of 20% Emiratisation by the end of 2009 and its participation at the ninth annual Careers UAE, Deyaar announced its open-ended scholarship programme for students from educational institutions under the Higher Colleges of Technology, including Dubai Women's College and Dubai Men's College.

"The Higher Colleges of Technology stands at the forefront of educational provision in the UAE, providing young students with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in the country's increasingly globalised workplace,"

said Markus Giebel, Chief Executive Officer of Deyaar.

"We are extremely pleased to offer our support to an exceptional group of Emirati students, providing them with the freedom to focus on their studies and prepare for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

"In line with our goal of increasing national representation in Deyaar's workforce, we believe this programme further reaffirms our commitment to knowledge development initiatives within the UAE while providing young talent the opportunity to fully utilise their potential in their chosen fields of study."

The company currently supports 30 emarati students from the Higher Colleges of Technology, including 10 students who were offered the scholarship at the Careers Show held from March 29-31 in Dubai.

As part of the programme, Deyaar will support students during their academic year for the lifetime of the scholarship. The programme will cover selected courses offered by the Higher Colleges of Technology, including engineering, business administration, finance, accounting, applied media and information technology.

The scholarships may be renewed on a yearly basis for those students who maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above by the end of each academic year, without any future work commitments. The scholarships offered by Deyaar are open to selected students who have enrolled on a full-time basis at the Higher Colleges of Technology.
