Richard Addey, Middle East & Africa Sales Director for NEC Computers, said,

"In the Middle East, the need for storage and reliable back up is greater because of the wider geographies in this region at the enterprise level. Securing data at price performance levels will ensure that CIOs need not compromise on quality especially in times of economic constraints."

A unique 1U Rack library on the market with 9 cartridges

The NEC T09A2 library constitutes a data protection and cost effective solution which helps businesses with limited rack space to automate their back up processes. This solution also reduces manual interventions and the risk of eventual human errors.

The NEC T09A2 stores a significant amount of information in a very compact 1U rack. It can hold up to 9 cartridges with a total capacity of 7.2TB. This entry range solution has been designed with SMBs in mind with regards to requirements for reliability whilst taking into account space restrictions.

A dedicated LTO-4 library

The library uses bar code reader technology in order to save the location of the LTO bands. It supports an Ultrium LTO-4 drive. This technology safely doubles the storage capacity within a small space, thus allowing the storage of up to 14.4TB of compressed data in a 1U rack format.
The LTO-4 band reader on the other hand, reduces the back up window in comparison with previous generations of LTO drives.

The LTO-4 reader is offered with WORM (Write Once, Read Many) technology in order to protect data against alterations and modifications. In addition, critical data is stored more efficiently thanks to 'anti-dust' technology which saves the location of the bands and protects them from dust and wear.
