- PRESS RELEASE
Le Meridien Dubai, one of the emirate's most popular hotels, yesterday officially launched Al-Mijana, its truly authentic Lebanese restaurant, to the public.
"With all the fine tuning complete, we are proud to officially launch Al-Mijana to the public and initiate our outreach campaign," said Ranjan Nadarajah, General Manager of Le Meridien Dubai. "Our decision to add Al-Mijana to our award winning Village portfolio of outlets is a natural progression of our long term business plan, one that is focused on providing food, entertainment and ambiance to fit all customer tastes and preferences."
"The restaurant has been open to the public for a month now and its popularity has been phenomenal. We plan to sustain this momentum by focusing on business lunches and family entertainment at the restaurant, thus catering to the variety of people coming to Al Mijana," said Nadarajah.
Al-Mijana promises authentic Lebanese food, in a venue described as emulating a typical rural Lebanese home. "We are providing Dubai with a restaurant with a difference. At Al Mijana, you may be transported back home to Lebanon and for those who haven't been there, a unique culinary experience awaits you," he added.
To add to the authenticity, the Le Meridien Dubai has gone to great lengths, including importing the restaurant's décor directly from Lebanon. Traditional lanterns hang from the high ceilings and the flooring at the entrance is approximately eighty years old. A traditional Lebanese band entertains guests and even the entirely Lebanese staff gets into the act by performing a Debke (traditional Lebanese folk dance) for the guests before dinner.
"The food is Lebanese, the décor is Lebanese, the staff is Lebanese, and even the beverages are all from Lebanon. This restaurant is for the true Lebanese food lover on the one hand and also for those interested in trying something new," adds Stephane Blac, Operations Director of Le Meridien Dubai.
