Wetex 2009 concludes activities

The 11th Water, Energy Technology and Environment Exhibition -Wetex 2009 concluded on Tuesday its activities at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The event, which is an important regional resourcing platform for national and international companies, was attended by 450 national, Arab and international companies and organizations representing 23 countries from around the world.
The Group's participation in the event aimed to give the participating organizations an access to its services and activities in a way that would contribute to developing the concept of quality as a key pillar that helps rationalize energy and water, as well as preserve natural resources and environment.
Abdul Qader Obaid Ali, Director of Auditing and Corporate Excellence at Dubai World, said the Emirates Energy Award organized annually by the Dubai Quality Group under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aims to enhance the regional awareness about the optimal use of energy which would contribute to achieving sustainable development.
He said Wetex 2009 provides an important opportunity to identify the participants about the award and its importance in supporting the aims of the exhibition related to raising the awareness of participants about the effective means of rationalizing energy and protecting natural resources and environment.
Dr. Wafo Dawoud, Chairman of DQG, said the second edition of the award in the last year achieved a great success in encouraging individuals and organizations and decision makers to enhance their participation in regional efforts to preserve energy.
He expects this year's edition of the award will attract more participants with innovative and effective strategies in the field of energy management and rationalization of the use of energy.
Dr. Wafi expressed hope that the current edition of the award would urge more individuals and companies to adopt effective systems regarding energy conservation.
He clarified that the Emirates Energy Award comes as part of the Group' continuous initiatives aiming to develop quality management and develop its standards in both the private and public sector.
Dr. Wafi said Wetex is an international platform for professionals and decision makers to forge new alliances and enhance relations to help create the latest standards that contribute to rationalize energy and preserve natural resources and environment.
