Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, a key player in the Middle East meetings industry

Qatar Tourism & Exhibitions Authority is participating in Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM), the biggest meetings trade show in the Middle East.

QTEA is promoting Qatar to the important Middle East market, by focusing on buyers from Meetings, Incentive, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector, among them conference and exhibitions organisers, and travel agents.

Qatar Tourism & Exhibitions Authority has developed Qatar into a rising quality destination, where visitors can enjoy key conferences and events along with high-end leisure and cultural landmarks.

Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority's efforts have been recently recognized, with the nomination of Mr Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of QTEA, by the magazine MEED, among the six leading personalities developing tourism in the Middle East.

The Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority is accompanied by main stakeholders of the meetings sector in Qatar, with top executives from Qatar National Convention Center, and Qatar MICE Development Institute, both part of Qatar Foundation.

Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority is hosting as well on its stand major travel and accomodation Qatari companies, such asGrand Hyatt Doha, Intercontinental Doha, La Cigale Hotel, Millenium Hotel, Sharq Village and Spa, Ritz Cartlon, Fal Travel Mart Travel and Tours, Gulf Adventures Tourism, and Qatar International Adventures

Speaking on the first day of the event, Ms Sadeem Al Mahmied, Head of Marketing of Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, commented :

"The GIBTM is an exhibition of primary importance for Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, as it helps us introduce Qatar to the region and the world as an ideal country for successful meetings. While promoting Qatar abroad, and especially in the region, we always proceed with special care regarding our traditional hospitality, greeting each buyer as our guest. We know that our first contact with future visitors is what they will remember, to encourage them to come to Qatar, and stay an additional 48 hours to experience more of what we have to offer. In GIBTM, we introduce our vision of offering luxury services for MICE and business travelers, blended with the unique Qatari cultural heritage."


Staged annually in Abu Dhabi, the Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM) is a three day business to business event presenting a diverse range of destinations, products and services from 250 organizations from the region and around the world. The event brings meetings and incentives professionals from the Gulf and Middle East region and around the world together with venues, hotels, destinations and suppliers.

GIBTM has over 1500 attendees with the high-level Hosted Buyer programme guaranteeing the attendance of senior level buyers from the Middle East, Asia and Europe, together with regional and local visitors.
