As many offices workers now use a laptop and handheld device to conduct the majority of business throughout the day, they are demanding a more flexible working environment to better suit their needs.

Leading designers at Ofis - an Easa Saleh Al Gurg company which provides office solutions - say that any new space must provide a bespoke environment which can easily be modified.

"We are currently seeing one of the most dramatic changes to the way we work, and the office needs to reflect that," said Ajai Dayal, General Manager - Retail and Marketing, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group. "As staff spend more time on the road it becomes increasingly important that the work space provides an organised area with easy access to modern technology."

The Totem range from Ergo, which is available exclusively in the UAE from OIFS, looks to provide answers to the demands of today's work culture.

Designed around a single aluminum pole, the Totem range provides comfort, flexibility and adaptability with options to change the height and angle of the work surface as well as being easy to move around the office and create varied lay outs.

The workspace is ergonomically-designed to function in different ways in different areas of the office and can be converted to allow people to work either sitting down or standing up.

"The Totem design range provides utility, and a place to develop ideas. The design is very flexible and can be used as and individual working space or use together to create an impromptu meeting area,"

added Dayal.
