- PRESS RELEASE
An inauguration ceremony took place to mark the beginning of the collaboration between Effat University and Cours de Civilisation Francaise de la Sorbonne to launch a Diploma in French Language and Civilization.
The English lecture was delivered by Rector Jean-Louis Boursin entitled "Athens, Bagdad, Paris, The Path of Modern Mathematics" and the French lecture was given by the director of CCFS, Professor Pierre Brunel entitled "Arthur Rimbaud en Arabie".
The multi-levelled intensive French program has been developed in cooperation with the Cours de Civilisation Francaise de La Sorbonne (CCFS) and with the support of the French Consulate in Jeddah. It is accredited by both Effat University and the CCFS with aims to bring the learners to a comprehensive knowledge of the French Language and Culture.
Through the diploma, learners will be able to develop their language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing), as well as other related language points, such as grammar and vocabulary, and build bridges with French Civilisation as seen from a cultural, geographical, social and historical point of view.
The DOFLC prepares learners to sit for the Test De Connaissance Du FranÇais (TCF) - a standardised French language proficiency test (equivalent to the TOEFL and IELTS tests for English). The diploma is designed to be completed in one academic year and consists of three levels.
