Students from Sharjah Higher Technology Colleges for Women visit Emarat

A number of students from Sharjah Higher Technology Colleges for Women lately visited the head quarters of Emirates General Petroleum Corporation "Emarat" in Dubai.
Dr. Mohammad Bou Qifel, Head of Occupational Development at Emarat, expressed the Corporation's enthusiasm in welcoming students who wish to visit Emarat and learn about the different phases of comprehensive and historical changes of the name "Emarat", in addition to the renewal and updating of the stations and the maintaining of a new and unique concept of service and product quality.
Dr. Bou Qifel said that student visits specifically are regarded with special attention, as such visits affect the students' positive perspectives regarding their concepts and visualizations of field work, which can in turn enhance their confidence and skills and contribute in building their personalities, in addition to helping them in adapting to the different aspects of life, as they are the new generation who will be in charge of the nation's future. It is highly important to inform them about unique and successful experiences in the administrative and technical departments in big corporations, so that they will be prepared to undertake their responsibilities later on, following perfect role models in their execution of the work in accordance with the newest theories and administration systems.
The students were enlightened by the description which was provided by Mr. Muhannad Ameen, Corporate Communications Coordinator for Media Affairs, who detailed the experience of the Corporate Communications Department, which is in charge of preparing and directing the media policy of the corporation, in addition to supervising the implementation of such policy. He also highlighted the department's success in bringing forward the Corporation's cultural aspect and in maintaining its image and good standing identity before the customers, partners, and community in general.
The students also listened to Mr. Aref Al Mheiri, Manager of Engineering and Services, who spoke to them about the nature of the projects executed by Emarat and the different services provided. Mr. Mohammed Ahmad Al Shamsi, Head of Hiring and Work Force Planning, explained about the Employees' Affairs System, especially regarding the nomination and employment methods used for different positions, including the salaries, bonuses and incentives.
Furthermore, the students listened to Mr. Ahmad Ghanem, Senior Engineer for Gas Operations in the Gas Operations Department at Emarat in Al Sajaa, Sharjah. The Engineer told them about the phases of collecting and monitoring gas and redistributing it to the different stations across the Northern Emirates. He also explained about the strict safety standards at Emarat during the operations of collection, pumping and transferring the gas through a network of underground pipes. Mr. Mohammad Rashed Al Miherzi, Head of Stores Operations, explained about storage and its procedures.
The students then took a field tour around the different departments at the Corporation, and they met with a number of employees who informed them about the nature of their tasks, how they deal with urgent problems, and the ways to plan and execute further development strategies.
