Mohamed bin Zayed views 'The Surface Transport Master Plan 2030'

H. H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, viewed the Surface Transport Master Plan (STMP) 2030, and gave directions to expedite its launch and implementation.
After inspecting the STMP 2030, His Highness the Crown Prince commented by saying that, "It gives Abu Dhabi a world-class, efficient, safe and convenient transport network; that will meet the people's and the economy's mobility needs throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi until 2030."
It is noteworthy that the Surface Transport Master Plan (STMP) 2030 comes in line with the Abu Dhabi Government's major initiative 'Plan Abu Dhabi 2030', and aims at connecting all cities and districts in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi facilitating the movement of people and goods across all means of transportation including Metro, Light Rail Transit (LRT) and water transport, and supporting the enormous growth and diversified development that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is currently witnessing.
For over a year, the Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi have been studying analyzing and identifying the current and future transport needs in the Abu Dhabi metropolitan region, Al Ain and the Western Region, as well as transport needs for inter-regional, inter-Emirate and international passenger and freight movements, taking into consideration Abu Dhabi Government's broader strategies and all relevant social and economic factors such as population growth, urban expansion, industrial development and the considerable rise of Abu Dhabi as a touristic destination and a global hub.
Commenting on this news, H. E. Abdullah Rashid Al Otaiba, Chairman of the Department of Transport said, "The Surface Transport Master Plan 2030 comes in line with 'Plan Abu Dhabi 2030' and aims introduce a highly sophisticated transport network throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and to take it to the forefront of globally acclaimed and modern cities and districts."
"This plan is the result of harmonious cooperation among Abu Dhabi's Executive Council, Executive Affairs Authority, Department of Municipal Affairs and the Department of Transport, who are jointly working to realize the forward-looking and comprehensive vision of H. H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and under the guidance and direction of H. H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council," Al Otaiba added.
