The parade of vintage automobiles dating back to the 1940s set off from the beach parking lot located opposite the Rimal sector and wound its way through the entire JBR community. The sheer elegance and old world charm of the early 20th century vehicles created a picturesque canvas at The Walk.
On behalf of Dubai Properties Group, Haiyan Mujarkech said:
"As leading master developers, Dubai Properties Group highly prioritises the welfare of our communities. We at Dubai Retail were thrilled to host the event at The Walk. We would like to also commend the noble initiatives of Dubai Autism Centre in raising public awareness and promoting a better understanding of autism and its impact on children."
"The Walk has a captive customer base of 20,000 residents from JBR and the neighbouring communities, with a significant daily footfall. The vintage car rally successfully attracted a cross-section of people, including connoisseurs and lovers of old cars. We believe the presence of such a huge number of people will help contribute to raising awareness of the disease."
Mohamed Al Emadi, Board Member and Director General of Dubai Autism Centre, said: "When a child is diagnosed with autism, the parents go into shock initially. They might take a long time to accept the diagnosis before taking positive action. It is, therefore, important for us to acknowledge their feelings and try and direct them to seek the right help for themselves and their child.
"We would like to thank the enthusiasm and cooperation demonstrated by the vintage car clubs, as well the contribution by The Walk at JBR as a prestigious venue. Through such efforts and encouragement, we are confident of reaching out to a wider network of families and children."
The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence currently hosts nearly 230 retailers and is soon anticipated to host over 305 outlets. Offering over 770,000 sq ft of retail space, the 1.7km retail promenade incorporates lifestyle shopping experiences through combining a unique selection of boutiques, retail stores, bistros and cafes.
