The feedback was presented in a clinic format and designed to provide guidelines for the candidates to use as they apply for the 2009 award.

The clinic offered hour-long, one-on-one assessments from QBWA's Chief Assessor, Mrs. Judith Barton, from The Development Partnership, a U.K.-based executive development group and inaugural partner of QBWA.

Mrs. Barton discussed individual candidates' application strengths and areas for development in a supportive and confidential setting. The clinic's focus was on outlining ways to develop potential applications and providing supporting evidence for the five criteria required by the evaluation committee.

Mrs. Barton said of the feedback clinic:
"QBWA was delighted to have such a talented and capable pool of candidates for the 2008 award. The competition was very strong. This feedback offers an opportunity for each candidate to understand how her application can be developed for the 2009 award competition. Each of these ladies demonstrated a pioneering spirit by participating in the first QBWA last year and every candidate should be recognized for her courage in asserting herself into the competition. They have proven themselves as role models for the community and for businesswomen everywhere and we are hoping they will apply for 2009 consideration. This feedback will allow each of them to develop and progress according to an individual plan."

The QBWA was launched in 2007 under the auspices of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al Misnad and aims to recognize and reward women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and managerial qualities in their fields. The overall recipients of the 2008 award were Dr. Nawal Saleh Al Alem, General Manager and Owner of Health & Beauty Group, who won the Business category award, and Dr. Mona Al Tamimi, Clinical Scientist at Hamad Medical Corporation, who won the Professional category award.

Two additional Qatari ladies were awarded in the Professional Category. First runner-up was Mrs. Buthaina Al Ansari, Head of Qatarization Development Program at Al Rayan Investment. Second runner-up was Mrs. Mashael Al Muhannadi, Head of Training & Recruitment at Al Jazeera Children's Channel.
