CrediMax presents its experience at an e-Transaction Forum in Lebanon

Ali Al Meshal, head of IT and project manager at CrediMax spoke recently at the "1st Legal and Legislative Structure of Electronic Transactions in the Arab Countries" Forum in Lebanon, under the title "The needs for secure & trusted payment instrument in e-commerce".

The three day event was held at the Phoenicia, Intercontinental Hotel Beirut, Lebanon, organized by ExiCon under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Lebanon, General Michel Sleiman, during the period 24-26 February 2009, with the collaboration of the League of Arab States, the Arab Parliament, the Lebanese Ministry of Justice, the Technology Committee in the Lebanese Parliament.

Arab Inter-Parliament Union, Council of Arab Ministers of Interior, Ministry of Economics & Trade - Lebanon, Ministry of Justice - Lebanon, Ministry of Telecommunications - Lebanon, Ministry of State for Administration Reform - Lebanon, Arab Administrative Development Organization, Capital Market Authority - KSA, Communications & Information Commission - KSA , Association for Development of Informatics & Law, Arab Association for International Arbitration , Euro-Arab Association for International Arbitration, and with support of many international organizations such as WTO, ESCWA, UNESCO and ITU-International Telecommunication Union.

The forum covered a number of topics including; the e-Transaction legal perspectives in different areas such as: e-Government, e-Management, e-Commerce, and e-Signature, the technical aspects of e-Government, the legal organization of e-Government, the legislative and regulatory requirements for judgment and execution in e-Crimes as well as Internet Infrastructure and the available security systems.

"The constant development of electronic banking and electronic money contributes to improving the efficiency of the banking and payment system. However, banks should adopt methods for identifying, assessing, managing and controlling the risks related to electronic banking and electronic money,"


said Mr. Al Meshal.

He said that banks have used electronic channels for years to communicate and transact business. With the advent of the Internet, banks are increasingly using e-banking or Internet banking to deliver their products and services to their customers.

"At CrediMax we are committed to extending the efficiency of electronic payments to the Bahraini community and economy. Electronic payments bring greater transparency and attract capital and consumers to the banking system. When coupled with a safe and secure use of these systems, electronic payment systems can play a critical role in helping small business grow. In this respect, we hope that CrediMax fraud control efforts will make a valuable contribution to the development of the banking industry and increasing its security in the Kingdom." He added

Mr. Ali Al Meshal was the only representative from Bahrain, and he was awarded a certificate of a distinguish speaker. Mr. Al Meshal was a key note speaker in the conference. His speech was a session opening, where this session opening was conducted by His Excellency Dr Sami Haddad Former Minister, Ministry of Economy & Trade.
