METS holds Intellectual Property Protection seminar and workshop

With the support of The Knowledge Mine, Mazoon Environmental and Technological Services LLC is organizing a two-day seminar and workshop on Intellectual Property Protection, in Knowledge Oasis Muscat, on 13 and 14 April 2009.
The workshop consists of seminar-type presentations in the mornings and discussion sessions in the afternoon. During the event, ample time for networking and the establishment of new contacts will be allocated. The presentations will be delivered Dr. Marco Montrone from the European Patent Office, Munich, Germany, supported by Mr. Ahmed Al-Saidi from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Ms. Sarah Hestad from the Curtis, Mellet-Prevost law firm.
Since Oman joined the WTO and is engaging into further free trade agreements, intellectual property protection is becoming more and more important to the Omani industry.
This short course addresses the industrial or administrative professional and provides clear practical knowledge and guidelines on how is intellectual property can be protected. It is the first time that such a workshop takes place in Oman.
