The package covers free airport transfers and transportation to and from the golf course; late check-out until 1700 hours; buffet breakfast in the rooftop restaurant; one free beverage in the hotel's piano lounge or Irish bar; half-price telephone calls, fruit basket on arrival, and a specially priced dinner aboard the hotel's Shuja yacht.

At the Abu Dhabi Golf Club - which includes two 18-hole courses, nine of which are floodlit - the package covers one round of golf on the Garden course, plus additional rounds on the National course at half price, as well as unlimited range balls, preferential tee times and the option to use the club's recreational facilities at a nominal fee.

According to hotel general manager, Francesco Borrello, the package presents an opportunity for both overseas and regional visitors to try out the spectacular greens of the Abu Dhabi Golf Club, which staying in a central location on the city corniche.

"Like many of the UAE capital's attractions, the Abu Dhabi Golf Club has not received the recognition it deserves, with its world-class courses and excellent clubhouse, and we are delighted to launch this package to promote both the club and our hotel," he said.

"Visitors can play a round, then return to the city and enjoy the benefits of the Abu Dhabi Grand where we offer a central location, signature service levels, a huge range of dining options, the latest technology and communications equipment, as well as huge bedrooms - all with an unparalleled view of the Gulf," he said.

Scheduled to be relaunched as Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi in June, the hotel is adding 120 extra rooms in a second tower, as well as a new lobby and banqueting and conference centre, while a separate entertainment centre will introduce new food and beverage concepts, and an extensive pool and leisure complex is also under construction.

In addition, the existing tower will be renovated as part of the overall project, with a final completion date of early 2004.
