Emarat enters agreement with Francorp

Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat) has signed an agreement with the American company Francorp, represented by its Middle East regional office in Dubai.

According to this agreement, Francorp will be preparing a special program to develop the franchising of Emarat's new trade mark "FreshPlus", which is considered the newest chain of convenience stores owned by the Corporation. FreshPlus is an innovative leap in the concept of modern shopping within comfortable and luxurious settings, with a special emphasis on quality and value.

Emirates General Petroleum Corporation has entered into an agreement with Francorp Middle East. In accordance with this agreement, Francorp Middle East will be providing consultations to Emarat within the frame of an ambitious expansion to market "FreshPlus" and achieve international and regional growth through franchising the trade mark.

Dr. Rahma bin Mohammed Al Shamsi, Retail Sales Manager at Emarat, said:
"We are looking to market the name of FreshPlus regionally and internationally within the next few years, so that it will become one of the best known trade names. We are relying on Emarat's long history and experience, spanning over fifteen years in the field of convenience stores in the United Arab Emirates. Emarat was able to hold a big share of the UAE's market and to earn the customer's trust by providing the best of services and products."


He also added, "Choosing the Francorp, an american based company which is well known for its leadership in developing and consulting trade marks, was based on its expertise which goes back to over 33 years in providing consultancies and development programs and franchising. We were also highly impressed by its record in this field, which includes some of the biggest and most successful franchises in the region."

Mr. Imad Charafeddine, Managing Partner of Francorp UAE - Middle East, commented that Francorp is happy to work on expanding franchising in the region, "we realize that franchising has become a crucial need for a lot of national companies aiming for more success. We think that the awareness regarding franchising is increasing day after day, and it is also gaining a lot of importance, as the locally successful companies have become aware of the great benefits and positive results to be reaped from this process."

He also added that franchising is the perfect procedure for quick expansion, and it is one of the most effective options open to companies working on developing their activities both regionally and internationally, especially in booming markets such as the Middle East.
