  • PRESS RELEASE

Essam Al Tamimi, Founding Partner of leading Middle East law firm, Al Tamimi and Company, recently announced the launch of 'The Practitioner's Guide to Arbitration in the Middle East and North Africa'.

This publication, printed in both English and Arabic, covers details and updates on the legal framework for arbitration across 18 countries in the Middle East and North (Africa, Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan Syria, Tunisia, UAE and Yemen). Each chapter is written in a clear and concise Questions & Answers format. The publication has been published by UAE based Publishing House Excelencia FZ LLC.

The book was launched at the recent International Bar Association 12th Arbitration Day which took place in Dubai earlier this year. Essam Al Tamimi has acted as an arbitrator representing clients in trial proceedings mainly involving foreign arbitration and is acquainted with the UAE Chamber of Commerce arbitration process and UAE arbitration proceedings at the UNCITRAL and ICC.

Al Tamimi said:
"It is hugely important that the Middle East get the opportunity to promote our arbitration expertise to the rest of the world. This method of dispute resolution has been practiced according to local traditions for a long time and the Middle East has much to teach the world about the nature and benefits of arbitration."

Excelencia FZ LLC and Al Tamimi approached leading arbitrators in each of the featured regions asking them to contribute their expert knowledge to the book.

"The Practitioner's Guide to Arbitration in the Middle East and North Africa" is a culmination of real experience and expertise from those directly involved with arbitration in their own countries. The book is the first of its kind to target the Mena region specifically and essential for anyone working in the area of arbitration both in the Middle East and internationally.
