The Shafallah Centre was established in 1999 by Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, wife of His Highness the Emir of Qatar. Shafallah is a non-profit, private centre that provides diagnosis, evaluation, training and development services for mentally challenged children aged 3-21.

The One Qatar will donate all proceeds from the sale of the artworks to the Shafallah Centre for Children with Special Needs. Included with each painting is a complimentary information booklet and DVD, featuring pictures of various paintings and an inspiring documentary on Shafallah by Al Jazeera. All paintings are done on canvas and can be conveniently rolled for travel.

Gabriel Salomé, Qatar Country Operations Manager and CSR Ambassador 2008/9 for The One, first visited the centre in January this year. Amazed by the skilled paintings he saw, Gaby suggested The One Qatar stores as outlets for the artworks to help raise money for the centre. Overjoyed to see his idea finally come to fruition, Gaby commented:
"These students are fantastic! They can do things you cannot even imagine and they have to be recognized. By exhibiting and selling their works of art in our Theatres, we will help create awareness and show the world what children with special needs are truly capable of."
You can make a difference in the lives of these children by purchasing a painting from Doha's Landmark Mall Theatre or Villaggio Boutique Theatre and join The One Qatar in making the world a better place.
