Speaking of the occasion, Tameer CEO Ghassan Sakhnini said,
"We are delighted to record the commencement of construction on yet another major Tameer development, thus underlining our commitment to meeting our customers' and investors' expectations, particularly in this time of economic challenges."
"As with all of our developments, Tameer is committed to delivering only the best service in the realization that demonstrating tangible progress is the key for our clients, investors and partners. Although the global macroeconomics are affecting local market sentiments, Tameer decided to move full speed ahead with Platinum Towers," Sakhnini added.
Platinum Towers' Development Director, John Zwets, explained that site mobilization started in early February and preparatory works have been ongoing for the past 7 weeks.
"Over the coming few months, our specialist contractor will install the secant-wall piles to retain the parking basement excavation. Excavating the 11,000 square meter site will require careful sequencing to ensure the piling and construction for the main buildings can continue in a logical and expeditious manner."
The Platinum Towers development offers predominantly freehold office suites, with breathtaking views of the lake and the Burj Dubai. Its ideal location - at the crossroads of the main Business Bay transportation artery, and within easy, four-minute walking distance of the Business Bay metro station - makes it one of the most sought-after properties currently on offer.
In addition to Platinum Towers, Tameer has a number of projects underway throughout the region, including the Regal and Silver Towers, also located in Business Bay; the multi-award-winning Tameer Towers at Shams Abu Dhabi on Al Reem Island, named the most awarded development in the world by International Property Awards in 2008; the Princess Tower and Elite Residence, both situated in the Dubai Marina; and Madinat Al Majd - an integrated residential project in Jordan.
Tameer will be showcasing a number of its projects at the upcoming Cityscape Abu Dhabi, to be held later this month, and will be providing project updates for the benefit of its clients, investors and partners, as well as the public.
